Education Resources
Data Privacy Day’s education effort provides an opportunity for teachers and privacy professionals to talk with teens and young adults about the importance of protecting the privacy of personal information online and in mobile contexts.
On our Teens and Young Adults page, you will find prepared educational presentations and scripts that you may download and use in junior high and high school classrooms to raise privacy issues of interest and importantance to teenagers. This page offers prepared presentations regarding privacy designed for older teens, college and graduate students as well as online resources, videos and articles that can be used for personal education or in lieu of prepared materials to generate clasrrom discussion.
The Parents and Kids page compiles a number of online resources and videos designed for parents and younger children. Although kids under 13 are generally prohibited from creating profiles on most social networking sites, children are often avid users of the internet. The materials on this page help parents understand the information they need to give their children so children can begin using good privacy practices as they navigate online games, surf the web, and do homework.
