Government-Created Resources

While government bodies in the Council of Europe, the Council of Europe member states, the European Union, the European Union member states, the United States, and Canada have all taken different approaches to privacy and data protection issues, most have made an effort to draw attention to the importance of data privacy and protection in some way.

Here are resources created by government agencies and government officials within the Council of Europe, Canada, and United States federal and state governments to help people understand and navigate various privacy issues.

Attorneys general, governors, state privacy officers, federal agencies, and others can be valuable resources in the effort to learn about data privacy.

Data Privacy Day seeks to provide opportunities for collaboration and interaction between government representatives, industry, and constituents, encouraging educational efforts, exchange of ideas, and participation in the creation of new policies and best practices for the 21st century.
