Lessons and Teaching Materials

The NCSA is focused on providing educators with a wide range of resources that can be re-purposed and customized for your students.  Below, you will find many of our resources and links to outside sources that can help you teach our children the basics of Cyber Education.

Keep coming back as we will be updating this page on a regular basis as more resources are available.

Cybersecurity Posters for Classroom Use

The National Cyber Security Alliance and McAfee® are extraordinarily pleased to distribute these free cybersecurity posters and accompanying activities to schools nationwide.

We are often asked, “What’s the easiest way to instill and maintain good security practices?” The answer is surprisingly uncomplicated: constant reminders. It’s that simple. Organizations around the world whose businesses depend on good security employ this simple best practice technique. Of course, their implementation strategies vary, but it all boils down to simple, consistent reminders.

That’s why these posters use a technique proven worldwide to be the most effective reminder strategy—the simple checklist. Accompanying each poster is a mini-activity to engage your students in creative and critical thinking as they explore the concepts behind each of three checklist reminders.

CyberSmart! Education, creators of the popular CyberSmart! Student Curriculum and CyberSmart! Online Workshops for educators developed these activities keeping in mind that to encourage behavioral change, students must define and “own” the issues for themselves.
